Five North Lakes based sporting clubs have received summer season grants from North Lakes Sports Club.

The five sporting clubs collectively have over 1,200 members. Supported clubs include Deception Bay Little Athletics, Moreton Bay Cycling Club, North Lakes Table Tennis Association, Strathpine Little Athletics and The Lakes Cricket Club.

“This is the sixth round of funding provided by North Lakes Sports Club’s Sporting Development Fund since the club opened its door in 2017,” said Tony Clarke, Sports and Community Manager of the Caboolture Sports Club Group.

Two rounds of funding are provided each year to cater for winter and summer season sporting clubs.

“More than $180,000 has now been injected back into the local sporting community by North Lakes Sports Club since 2017.

“This includes providing 47 seasonal sponsorships, and paying for facility operation costs at the North Lakes sporting venues of Kinsellas, Aurora and Woodside,” added Mr Clarke.

The Lakes Cricket Club is one of the beneficiaries for this round of sponsorships.

“This is our third year of funding that we have received from North Lakes Sports Club,” said Haydon Carroll, President of The Lakes Cricket Club.

“Sponsorship funds will help cover club equipment expenses including $3,000 which we have just spent on cricket balls for this season.

“We are also grateful to North Lakes Sports Club who pays for all of our electricity at Woodside.”

The next round of sponsorship will be announced in late 2019 and will focus on sporting clubs preparing for their 2020 winter season.
