The highly anticipated North Lakes Sports Club has taken a huge step forward, with approval for the Club’s liquor and gaming licenses received in early December.
The approvals ensured the final conditions of the contract for the Flinders Parade site were met, with settlement completed on Tuesday 8th December.
The proposed new club will be built and operated by Caboolture Sports Club Limited, which once complete, will provide members with access to three great clubs across the Moreton Bay Region.
Caboolture Sports Club Limited CEO Kelvin Patch said the North Lakes Sports Club would be the first new club constructed on a greenfield club site in Queensland in over 17 years.
“The proposed North Lakes Sports Club is one of the most exciting projects for the Queensland community club industry and one that will deliver a huge boost to local sporting and community groups,” Mr Patch said.
“The Club will be modelled off the highly successful structure that we’ve put in place here at Caboolture, by establishing a number of affiliated sporting clubs from across the North Lakes region that will benefit from the proceeds of the Club’s operations.”
The latest milestones followed approval of development plans by Moreton Bay Regional Council in October.
Mr Patch confirmed that the Club’s building committee and management team were now finalising the detailed plans for the new club.
“We are well into the process of finalising the detailed plans and all things progressing well, we expect to commence construction around April this year, with the club open to members and the public in early 2017”.
The new club will include a 300 seat restaurant, café, kids club with outdoor play area, lounge, bars, gaming room, TAB and function facilities. The club will also feature 268 parking spaces and offer a free members courtesy bus.
