The North Lakes Sports Club last night took out a prestigious Keno & Clubs Queensland Award for Excellence.
Over 1000 guests from across the State attended the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre to see North Lakes Sports Club take home the award for Best Club Redevelopment (Over $2 million).
The Best Club Redevelopment (Over $2 million) award is bestowed on a club that has been redeveloped including a new build, refurbishment or had alterations in the last 12 months.
The award focuses on the quality and innovation of the development as well as its impact on staff efficiency and patron satisfaction. It also takes into consideration the intent of the design, whether it was on schedule and if it was delivered on budget.
Clubs Queensland Chief Executive Officer, Doug Flockhart, congratulated North Lakes Sports Club on their awards success.
“As the first new greenfield community club (new club on new ground) to open in 20 years, the North Lakes Sports Club is an amazing, contemporary addition to the Queensland club community,” Mr Flockhart said.
“The design itself facilitates operational efficiency, for instance, with a centralised back-of-house allowing easy staff movement during peak trading times. There is a really nice ambience and Brand + Slater Architects who undertook the design work utilised natural materials which allow an abundance of light into the club.”
“I’m pretty sure Kevin McCloud from the popular Grand Designs show would be impressed.”
Mr Flockhart also thanked Kestrel Solutions for sponsoring the Best Club Redevelopment (Over $2 million) award.
“Our generous sponsors help make the Keno & Clubs Queensland Awards for Excellence the premier event for the Queensland clubs industry. This allows members from across the State to come together and celebrate the outstanding individual and collective achievements of our vibrant $2.2 billion industry.”
